Beverly J. (Hanscom) DeYoung

UXBRIDGE ... Beverly J. (Hanscom)) DeYoung, 81, died Saturday, December 9, in the Saint Camillus Health Center. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gordon DeYoung; two sons, David DeYoung, of Uxbridge, and Kenneth DeYoung, and his wife, Teresa, of Sutton; two daughters, Susan Smith, and her husband, Steve, of Northbridge, and Lori Degre, and her husband, Dan, of Pinehurst, NC; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Mrs. DeYoung was born in Lewiston, Maine, April 7, 1936, the daughter of William and Maria (Cothran) Hanscom. She grew up in Milford, where she graduated from Milford High School, and she lived in Northbridge for 50 years, before moving to Uxbridge 12 years ago.

She assisted her husband with the management of his construction business, and she enjoyed wintering in Jupiter, Florida  with Gordon for more than 20 years,

She was a faithful member of the Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church in Whitinsville for more than 60 years where she was active in Bible study with her many church friends. Mrs. DeYoung's many interests included gardening, bowling, boating, tennis, reading, and travel.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, December 15, in the Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling Hours will be 5-7 PM, Thursday, December 14, in the church.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations are requested to either the Pleasant Street Christian Reformed Church, 25 Cross Street, Whitinsville, or the Whitinsville Christian School, 279 Linwood Avenue, Whitinsville, MA, 01588.
