Manchaug … Brenda A. (Scowcroft ) Blette, 68, died Tuesday, October 8, in the Ichabod Washburn House, Worcester, surrounded by her loving family.. She is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 50 years, Donald F. Blette; two sons, Mark B. Blette, and Joseph F. Blette, of Whitinsville; a daughter, Theresa- Marie Senecal, and her husband, Blaine, of Manchaug; and four grandchildren, Catelyn, Joseph, Jayde, and Shyan.
Mrs. Blette was born in Milford, March 30, 1945, the daughter of Alex and Kathleen (Devaney) Scowcroft. She grew up in Whitinsville and lived there until moving to Manchaug in 2001. She was a graduate of Northbridge High School, and Leo’s Beauty Institute.
She was a benefits administrator at Alternatives Unlimited for ten years, prior to retiring in 2010. Previously, she worked at the Paul Revere Insurance Company. Following her retirement, Mrs. Blette was a substitute teacher at Sutton High School.
She was a member of Saint Patrick’s Church in Whitinsville, and she was an active participant with the Northbridge High School, Class of ’62 Golden Girls. In 1972, she served as secretary of the Northbridge Bicentennial Committee. She enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, shopping, going to the beach, and hosting family gatherings.
Mostly, however, Brenda will be remembered as being kind, compassionate and caring; an individual who was giving of herself, and who loved the time she spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, son-in-law, and her many friends.
Mrs. Blette’s Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM, Monday, October 14, in Saint Patrick’s Church, Cross Street, Whitinsville. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling Hours will be 1-4 PM, Sunday, October 13, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville.

Brenda’s family would like to thank the staff from Holy Trinity Hospice and the Ichabod Washburn House for their compassionate care given to Brenda during the final days of her life.
