Whitinsville--Dorothy "Dolly" (Sears) Hamblin Vinton, died Friday, February 16, in the Saint Camillus Health Center after a period of declining health. Dolly was born March 2, 1927 in Milford, a daughter of Albert and Gladys (Judd) Sears. She was raised in Upton where she graduated from high school and attended Worcester State College, taking many classes over the years.
Dolly leaves her husband of 10 years, Charles Vinton, a daughter, Ellen Bruso Wallwork, in Florida, a son, Tom Hamblin, of Uxbridge, 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Robert Hamblin, in 2004.
With Charles, Dolly enjoyed traveling to Prince Edward Island, across country in their motor home and to Wickford, RI to enjoy the ocean and boat watching. In earlier years, she was and avid square dancer and clogger and gave clogging lessons.
A Memorial Service will be Sunday, February 25, at 2PM, at the Quinebaug Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 768 Quinebaug Road, Quinebaug, CT 06262. Burial will be private. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St, Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
