NORTHBRIDGE ... Frank C. Lubas, 89,  Saturday, August 6, passed away from this earth and into the welcoming arms of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, in the Milford Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruth (King) Lubas; two sons, Peter F. Lubas, and his wife, Beth, of New Braintree, and Paul N. Lubas, of Whitinsville; three daughters, Diane R. Lajoie, and her husband, Peter, of Uxbridge, Judy C. Bowker, and her husband, Lee, of Millbury, and Carol A. Jackson, and her husband, Brian, of Sutton; a sister, Sophie Glover, of Greenville, SC; ten grandchildren, Christine Lajoie Cugini, and her husband, Paul, Peter and Katie Lajoie, Sarah and Matthew Lubas, Joshua and Jen Jackson, Steven Bowker, Cameron and Aiden Lubas; and two great grandchildren, Brooke and Ethan Cugini. He was predeceased by his brothers, Walter, Henry, and Leo Lubas, and a sister, Stacia Baxendale.

Mr. Lubas was born in Northbridge, September 11, 1926, a son of Peter and Caroline (Klocek) Lubas, and was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Northbridge High School. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served as a military policeman during the liberation of the Phillipines.

He worked at Wyman Gordon in Grafton for many years, retiring as a production planner in 1986. Previously, he worked at the former Whitin Machine Works, and the Paul Whitin Mfg. Co.

Mr. Lubas was a dedicated, longtime member of the Rockdale Congregational Church, where he was Deacon Emeritus, and taught Sunday School. For many years, he volunteered at the N.A.C. food pantry, and he was a member of the Northbridge Fire Department in Rockdale. He was an enthusiastic fan of New England sports, and he enjoyed fishing and spending time in Jaffrey, NH.

Mr. Lubas' Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM, Friday, August 12, in the Rockdale Congregational Church, followed by burial in Riverdale Cemetery. Calling Hours will be 5-7 PM, Thursday, August 11, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rockdale Congregational Church, Fowler Road, Northbridge, MA, 01534.
