Hull, Quebec—Manuel Remigio, 85, died Wednesday, June 22 after a period of declining health. Mr. Remigio is survived by his son Louis Remigio, of Tewksbury; three daughters, Ana O’Shea and her husband John, of Lubbock, TX, Helena Wickstrom and her husband Timothy, of Whitinsville, and Natalie Pereira and her husband Eddie, of Medford; a brother Januario Remigio and sisters Joana Pereira and Celina Pereira, all of Canada; and 12 grandchildren, Danielle and Alexandra Remigio, Samantha and Jessica O’Shea, TJ, Teresa, Katie, Samuel, David and Daniel Wickstrom, Adam and Nathan Periera. He is predeceased by his wife, Maria Francisca in 1999, his daughter in law Amy and his siblings Eduardo, Gilda and Laura.
Born August 14, 1930 in the Azores, Mr. Remigio emigrated to Canada as a young man where he worked in construction. He returned briefly to Portugal where he married and then returned to Canada with his wife, mother and siblings. In 1971 he and his family moved to Somerville, MA where he worked for Koch Industries until retiring. In 2002 he returned to Canada after living in Whitinsville for four years with his daughter.
Mr. Remigio’s Funeral Mass will be Saturday, July 9 at 10Am, in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville, burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Providence Rd., Whitinsville. Calling Hours at Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St., Whitinsville, are Friday, July 8 from 5-8PM.
