Northbridge ... Raymond F. Malley, Jr., 83, died at home, Friday, December 14, following an illness. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary E. (Sullivan) Malley; three sons, Paul Malley, of Northbridge, Thomas F. Malley, and his wife, Beverly, of Douglas, and Patrick J. Malley, of Whitinsville; three daughters, Ellen M. Hatfield, and her companion, Rusty Miedema, of Northbridge, Jane A. Malley, of Millbury, and Colleen M. Malley-Peprah, and her husband, Emmanuel, of Webster; 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Edward Malley, and a sister, Doris Demarest.

Mr. Malley was born in Uxbridge, June 14, 1929, a son of Raymond and Ellen (Creighton) Malley. He grew up in Uxbridge, living there until moving to Northbridge 60 years ago. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys' Trade High School, and he served in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean Conflict.

He was a sheet metal fabricator at Arduini Mfg. Company in Worcester for 10 years, prior to retiring in 1973. Previously, he worked at the former Whitin Machine Works.

He was a member of Saint Patrick's Church in Whitinsville, American Legion Post #343 in Northbridge, the Knights of Columbus, Singletary Rod & Gun Club, and the National Rifle Association. He was a volunteer fireman in Northbridge for many years, and he was a lifetime member of the 82nd Airborne Alumni Association, and the Lt. General James M. Gavin Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division Association in Natick. He was a skilled woodworker, enjoyed camping, and was a loyal fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics.

Mr. Malley's Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, December 18, in Saint Patrick's Church, Cross Street, Whitinsville. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery. Calling Hours will be 5-8 PM, Monday, December 17, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville.

The family would like to thank  Dr. Robert Yood, and Dr. Stephen Pezzela, for the compassionate care they provided Ray through the years. Please omit flowers.
