Hi, my name is Randall W.Hier and I was the former V.P. of local 340 at Fitchburg Gas and Electric and now Unitil. I then held the President of the union position for 23 years until retirement 5 years ago. I saw the sad news about Bill in the Worcester Telegram and felt compelled to send a message to his family. I negotiated several contracts with the company when Bill was in charge and Sometimes you do not realize some things at the time they happen but thinking back I wanted to let your family know that Bill had a job to do and so did I and Bill did his job with compassion, respect and dignity. We had some heated discussions but he was always willing to listen and try to solve the problem. I have complete respect for Bill and send my condolences to your family and may he rest in peace.
