Northbridge... Michael Avedisian, 98, died at home, Friday, April 6. His wife, Janet (Mamovich) Avedisian, died in 1973. He is survived by a son, Robert Avedisian, and his wife, Linda, of Holden; two daughters, Eileen Renault, of Upton, and Sharon Maginnis, and her husband, Robert, of Milton; six grandchildren, Stefan Ludwig, Susan LeBlanc, Joyce Avedisian, John Avedisian, Sheryl Rose, and Scott Renault; and four great grandchildren, Alison LeBlanc, Ronald LeBlanc, Faith Ludwig, and Kirsten Ludwig. He was predeceased by four brothers, James, William, Harry and Andrew, and by two sisters, Lucy and Mary.
Mr. Avedisian was born in Whitinsville, October 12, 1913, a son of Sarkis and Tarvis (Deranian) Avedisian, and was a lifelong Northbridge resident. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys'Trade High School, and worked as a machinist in the Whitin Machine Works, retiring in 1975.
He was a flight instructor in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and he enjoyed flying his own planes for most of his adult life. Mr. Avedisian's other passion was ridng his Harley-Davidson, a pasttime he enjoyed into his nineties.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, April 11, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville, preceeded by Calling Hours from 9:30-11 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
