Eleanor M. (Cochrane) Lloyd

UXBRIDGE ... Eleanor M. (Cochrane) Lloyd, 98, died Saturday, December 30, in the Lydia Taft House, Uxbridge, MA. Her husband, Jerrold D. Lloyd, died in 2000. She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia S. Lloyd, of Lincoln, NH; two sons, George D. Lloyd, and his wife, Claudia, of Shrewsbury, and Robert D. Lloyd, and his wife, Marianne, of Boynton Beach, Florida; four grandchildren, Jessica Mara, Gregory, Francesca and Jacqueline Lloyd; and two great grandchildren, Maeve and Hadley Mara; a niece, Laura Hanny, of Whitinsville, and a nephew, Mark Hanny, of Wilton, CT.

 Mrs. Lloyd was born in Whitinsville, August 13, 1919, the daughter of George and Margaret (Hamilton) Cochrane. She grew up in Whitinsville, and was a 1937 graduate of Northbridge High School, and also the former Hill College in Woonsocket, RI. She was an elementary school secretary for the Town of Northbridge for 13 years before moving to the Cape in 1980. She returned to Whitinsville in 2001.

Mrs. Lloyd was a member of the Blackstone Valley United Methodist Church in Whitinsville. She was a charter member of the Northbridge Historical Society, and while living on the Cape, belonged to the Dennis Historical Society, the Dennis Union Church, and she volunteered at the Dennis Council on Aging for 19 years.

Mrs.Lloyd's Funeral Service will be held at 11am, Friday, January 5, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville, preceded by a Calling Hour from 10-11am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
