Ernest W. Boudreau

Northbridge--Ernest W. Boudreau, 91, passed away Saturday, March 10, at Beaumont Nursing Home, from Broken Heart Syndrome.

He is predeceased by his wife, Ruth Boudreau, 2 months prior, and a son Carl S. Boudreau, in 2017.

He is survived by his children, a son Dennis Boudreau of Gardiner, Maine, and his wife Kathy, daughter Judith Schotanus of Whitinsville, and her husband Pete, daughter Wendy Brodeur of Columbia, Tennessee and her husband Richard. Mr. Boudreau had 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.  He and his wife recently celebrated 71 years of marriage.

Mr. Boudreau was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during WWII as an aviation gunner.

He was a Whitin Machine Works volunteer firefighter for the town of Northbridge, he also served as an auxiliary police officer with the Northbridge Police Department.  He was the quarter master, treasurer, and drove bus 101 with the Valley Airs Drum and Bugle Corps, and marched with the Valley Airs Alumni Corps.  He was on the Northbridge Senior Center F.I.N.E., the food pantry and bus driver for the senior center. He played trumpet in four different bands, including the Blackstone Community Concert Band.

Calling Hours are from 10-11:30AM, Saturday, March 17, followed by a Memorial Service with Military Honors at Carr Funeral Home.
