Jacob David Westbury

SUTTON … Jacob D. Westbury, 17, died Friday, December 12, as a result of injuries suffered in a car accident He is survived by his mother and best friend, Heather (Osterman) Lavalley, his father, David Westbury, his step-mother, Kristina Westbury, and his maternal grandmother, Dawn Osterman, all of Sutton; three brothers, David C. Westbury, Ethan Westbury, and Trip Lavalley; eight sisters, Kristen Westbury, Rebecca Westbury, Emily Westbury, Katelynn Westbury,  Hannah Fitzpatrick, Sophie Lavalley, Catherine Lavalley, and Addison Lavalley; his girlfriend, Virginia Santee, and three nephews.
     Jacob was born in Milford, May 12, 1997. He attended Sutton schools and was a senior in the construction technology program at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School where he was a member of the SKILLS Team, and played football. He was a skilled carpenter, and enjoyed using hand tools.
     He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 110 in Millbury, where he was an Eagle Scout candidate, and he was a member of the Order of the Arrow. He was a former player and assistant coach in the Millbury/Sutton Pop Warner Football League, and his interest in physical fitness led to his practice of mixed martial arts.
     Jacob attended and was active at Faith Fellowship Church in Uxbridge, and the First  Congregational  Church of Sutton. He was loved by everyone he met, and was described by his teachers at Valley Tech as “super-talented, intelligent, determined, loyal and always happy to help others and share his knowledge and know how.” He was selfless and possessed a brilliant sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
     Jacob’s Funeral will be held at 12:30 PM, Thursday, December 18, in the First Congregational Church of Sutton. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Whitinsville. Calling Hours will be 4-8 PM, Wednesday, December 17, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville.
