James Robert Potvin

WHITINSVILLE … James R. Potvin, 65, died at home, Monday, September 16, following an illness. He is survived by a son, Jon Potvin, with whom he lived; his daughter, Jennifer Potvin, and granddaughter, Zoe Dumouchel, of Whitinsville; a brother, David Potvin, of Bennington, Vt; his girlfriend, Nancy Kireyczyk; and his former wives, Susan (Emery) Potvin, and Kathleen Willard.

Jim was born in Whitinsville, February 19, 1954, a son of Joseph E. and Jennie (Rutana) Potvin. A lifelong resident, he graduated from Northbridge High School in 1972, and from Worcester Industrial Technical Institute. He was a quality engineer, most recently at Neo-Tech, in Westborough, and previously worked at Nu Vision, in Springfield, and at Digital.

He enjoyed trap shooting, and was a member of the Singletary Rod and Gun Club and the NRA. A motorcycle enthusiast, he belonged to the Worcester Chapter, 291, of Star Touring and Riding. He enjoyed playing pool, cruises, and trips to the casino.
