MELROSE … Lois B. (Cibley) Drainoni, 88, formerly of Whitinsville, died Friday, November 23, in the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. Her husband, Guy Drainoni, died in 1996. She is survived by two sons, Guy Drainoni, of Hopedale, and Rich Drainoni, of Framingham; two daughters, Mari-Lynn Drainoni, and her spouse, Mary Mello, of Wakefield, and Michelle Borruso, and her husband, Gregg, of Whitinsville; two grandchildren, Julianna and Rowan Borruso; a cousin, Helen Abrams, of Warwick, RI; and her dear friend, Pat Ryan, of Sutton. She was predeceased by her brothers, Albert and Leonard Cibley.
Mrs. Drainoni was born in East Greenwich, RI, the daughter of Moses and Celia (Abramowitz) Cibley. She grew up in Brighton and lived in Southborough before living in Whitinsville for 30 years. She moved to Melrose in 1996. She was a graduate of Brighton High School and the Boston Business School.
Mrs. Drainoni was the Personnel Manager at the former Bernat Mill in Uxbridge for many years, and she also worked at the former Northbridge Nursing Home, and at Community Medical Alliance in Boston.
For many years, she was a Girl Scout leader in Whitinsville, and an active member of the Northbridge High School Music Booster Club. She enjoyed swimming and reading.
Mrs. Drainoni's Memorial Service will be held at 11am, Friday, November 30, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville, preceded by Calling Hours from 9-11am.
