Whitinsville--Lois (Hix) Macomber died Tuesday, February 27, in the Saint Camillus Health Center. She is survived by a son, Steven P. Macomber and his wife Elaine, of Whitinsville; a daughter, Paula Canavan and her husband Robert, of The Villages, FL; her grandchildren, Donna Macomber-Cassidy, Kristin Bruno, Jill Babka, Gregory Macomber and Alyson Turner; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Macomber was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Kenneth H. Macomber, Sr., her son Kenneth H. Macomber, Jr., grandchildren Deanna Macomber and Jason Ebbeling and her sister Evelyn Crockett.
A daughter of LeRoy and L. Ethel (Noble) Hix, she was born November 9, 1921 in Northbridge and graduated from Northbridge High School in 1939. For 23 years she worked in the courtesy booth at Phillip's Market, in Whitinsville, retiring in 1983. She was a lifelong member of the Village Congregational Church.
Mrs. Macomber will be remembered as a loving wife and mother who dedicated her life to her family.

Calling Hours from 6-8pm are Thursday, March 1. Mrs. Macomber's Funeral is Friday, March 2, at 11AM at Carr Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Village Congregational Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 217, Whitinsville, MA 01588.
