UXBRIDGE ... Oscar Bedigian, 83, died Friday, May 26, in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. His wife, Nancy (Perry) Bedigian, died in 2014. He is survived by a son, Oscar Bedigian, Jr., of Worcester; two daughters, Cheryl A. Boyle, and her husband, Richard, of Latrobe, PA and Alice R. Benson, of Sutton; three grandchildren, Richard Michael Boyle, Kevin Boyle, and Kenneth Oscar Benson; a brother, Peter Bedigian, of Whitinsville, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Harry Bedigian, and a sister, Sara Asadoorian.

Mr. Bedigian was born in Whitinsville, November 25, 1933, a son of Pilibos and Arshalous (Sohigian) Bedigian, and lived there until moving to Uxbridge 16 years ago. He was a 1951 graduate of Northbridge High School, and he served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He worked at IBM for 45 years, retiring as a field service engineer.

Mr. Bedigian was member and former Deacon of the Village Congregational Church in Whitinsville. He was model ship builder, and he played the clarinet and saxophone in the Vanites Armenian Orchestra during the 1960s, when they played at the 1964 New York World's Fair, and made recordings.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, June 1, in the Village Congregational Church, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling Hours will be 6-8 PM, Wednesday, May 31, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville.
