Whitinsville--Robert "Ray" Everett died Thursday, August 30 peacefully in his sleep at the age of 95. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri August 21, 1923, a son of Sherman R. and Grace (Wilson) Everett, brother to Jean Everett. He grew up in Pasadena CA where he graduated from high school and Occidental College prior to serving in the US Navy during WWII, attaining the rank of Lieutenant.
Mr. Everett lived in Maynard for many years while working at such companies as Data Terminal Systems, General Radio, Singer and ATF Davidson Corp. He was Vice President of International Sales for ATF Davidson before retiring in the mid 90's. During his career, Ray was fluent in Spanish, lived abroad, and traveled extensively throughout the world before settling down in Whitinsville . He was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed Jazz, Swing, Tango and Latin music as he would be found singing along at times. He also adored his five grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Ray is survived by a daughter Cynthia Joyce and her husband Glenn, of Pittsburgh, PA; a son, Bruce Everett and his wife Mary, of Bolton; two grandchildren, Kayla and Roberta Everett. In addition, he leaves his beloved companion of over 20 years, Valerie Conlin, of Whitinsville; her children, Leslie and her husband Al Sacko, Patrick Conlin and his wife Kim, and three grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan and Tyler Conlin.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 4, at 11AM, at Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Whitinsville, MA.
