Anthony Sean Crook, died Wednesday, August 16, 2023, with his devoted wife at his side, at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Sean leaves his wife of 11 years, Barbara Crook; his mother, Jean (Ryan) Goulding, of Sandbach, England; a son Joseph Crook and his wife Katie, and their 2 daughters Alex and Morgan, of Tacoma, WA; Barbara's children, who he thought of as his own: Daniel Keen, of Seville, Spain; Becky Keen, of Providence, RI; and Jonny Keen, of Glasgow, Scotland. In addition, he leaves his siblings Michael Crook, Catherine Murray and Clare Bracegirdle, all in England. He was predeceased by his father, William Crook and his son Shea Crook.
Born November 24, 1959, in Wallasey, England, Sean grew up in South Manchester. He graduated from Saint Gregory's RC High School. From an early age, Sean was interested in how things worked and could be found dismantling and reassembling alarm clocks and tape recorders. After attending college, Sean pursued a career in engineering with Water's Corporation, spanning a period of 41 years, first in England and then in the United States, where he originally settled in Delaware for a short period, then moved to Pennsylvania for 20 years. He relocated to Massachusetts in 2011.
Sean was one of the highest regarded engineers and colleagues at Waters. In these 41 years he worked with amazing skill and dedication to do more than just have a career. He worked side by side with people in the worldwide scientific community to run the highest technology pharmaceutical drug research equipment that has made medicines and our lives better. Sean loved to help all people, this was and is his legacy.
Away from work, Sean took great pride in his home improvement and renovation projects and enjoyed computer programming and anything with technology. He also liked to explore local breweries, walk on local trails, and eat out with his wife at local restaurants.
Calling Hours are Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 5-7PM. Sean's Funeral will be at 11AM, Thursday, August 24, at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Grafton and Upton, 3 Grafton Common, Grafton.
