Agnes I. Rogers, 97, of Northbridge, passed away February 5, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Billiel. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, John Rogers.
Agnes was a homemaker and worked for several years at the Whitinsville Public Library. She was a life-long, active member of the Northbridge Centre Congregational Church. She was on many committees and spent several decades working with the Ladies Aid. She helped put on the ham and bean suppers. Agnes followed the Rogers family tradition by making the baked beans which started with Jenny Rogers, then Thelma (Rogers) Moses and then her.
Agnes loved to read and sew. She made magnificent hooked wool rugs, made relish and jam from produce in her garden, and grew gorgeous Africa violets. She and John loved to travel. They also hosted many, many family and neighborhood get-togethers.
In addition to her husband, Agnes was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Peter Billiel, her son, Robert, and son-in-law, Hank Hartzell. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Rogers of Manheim, PA; daughter-in-law Janice Rogers of Erie, CO; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 22, at 10:00AM, at the funeral home. A period of visitation will follow from 10:30AM-12PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made the charity of your choice or the Rockdale Congregational Church, 42 Fowler Rd., Northbridge, MA 01534.
