Alice (Dertlian) Asdourian, 92, died Thursday, June 22, in the LifeCare Center of Auburn following a period of declining health. Her husband, Steve Asdourian, died in 2003. She is survived by two sisters, in France, Esther Sahaguian, and Jacqueline Kazazian and her husband Jacques. Also, many loving nieces and nephews, and her close friends, Bill and Barbara Terry of Whitinsville. Alice was predeceased by her sisters, Armenouhi (Armen) Baghdasarian, and Eugenie Kazazian.
Born in Paris, France, August 8, 1930, a daughter of Hagop and Manouchak (Nigogosian) Dertlian, Mrs. Asdourian grew up and attended school there. She relocated to the United States in the early 1950s and lived in the Detroit area before moving to Whitinsville in the early 1990s. She worked in retail sales, and ran a day care center from her home while living in Detroit.
Alice loved her home and beautiful gardens, and she was a prolific knitter and crocheter.
A graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11am, Monday, July 10, in Pine Grove Cemetery, Whitinsville. There are no Calling Hours. Memorial donations , for the Armenian Heritage Memorial Fund, may be mailed to the Armenian Apostolic Church of Whitinsville, 315 Church Street, Whitinsville, MA, 01588.
