Anne (MacRitchie) MacLeod mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed away very peacefully at the age of 103, on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge. Anne's journey of 103 years was marked by love, caring, hard work, devotion to her family and friends, and a strong faith. She was a woman of God. She had an incredible spirit that inspired all who knew her.
She is survived by her two daughters Carol Pilibosian and her husband John of Whitinsville, Judy Griffin, of Phoenix, AZ, her niece Jeanne Thompson and husband Tony of Mashpee, MA, her nephew Kenneth Parker and his wife Dawn, of Worcester, MA. She also leaves four grandchildren and her great grandchildren Ava, Brett, Brandon, Ryan, Bryson, Isabella and Kain.
She is predeceased by her husband Angus, granddaughter Heather Pilibosian Whitney, and her sister Kenena Parker.
Born in Hazeldale, Nova Scotia on July 10, 1921, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Grace (Matheson) MacRitchie. She spent her childhood in Little Narrows, Cape Brenton until she was 11. She then moved to Brookline, MA and graduated from Brookline High School and Fisher College. She married Angus MacLeod in 1947 at Brookline Presbyterian Church. They brought up their two girls in the Scotch Presbyterian Church and the Needham Presbyterian Church.
Anne was the Supervisor of Accounts at the Joslin Clinic for more than 25 years. Upon her retirement her time was spent with her family, her church, knitting, reading, and her friends. She was a light in the eyes of all who knew her.
Anne's memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 11AM in the Whitinsville United Presbyterian Church 51 Cottage St. Whitinsville, MA 01588. A calling hour prior to the service will be held from 10-11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anne's memory may be made to the Memorial Fund of The Whitinsville United Presbyterian Church, 7 Spring St., Whitinsville, MA 01588.
