Annie Guertin Obituary

UXBRIDGE--Annie M. (Bombara) Guertin, 101 years and 6 months young, widow since 1958 of Joseph Herve ‘Harvey’ Guertin went home to be with Our Lord on Tuesday, January 28, at the Lydia Taft House, in Uxbridge.

She was born in East Douglas on July 2, 1918, the 4th of 9 children born to the late Lawrence J. and Mary (Gonsorcik) Bombara.  She was a housekeeper at a young age in East Douglas and Worcester, MA.  She was married to ‘Harvey’ in 1939 and lived in the family house in Linwood until April 2014,  when she suffered the effects of a stroke.

Upon attaining each age, she always looked forward to reaching the next half year mark of her birth day.  She spent many pleasant hours swinging on the backyard swings that had been set in place in the 1950’s for her children.  She credited the exercise from swinging to helping her longevity.

She always cherished her family and will be greatly missed by her three children:  Caroline and John Paulhus of South Carolina, Kathleen Kozak, of New Hampshire and J.  Herve Guertin of Linwood.  Her seven grandchildren are Jacqueline Paulhus & Mike Anderson of CT, Monica Kozak & Tom Spellman of VA, Kristina Kozak & Roy Hunter of NH, William & Anne Paulhus of SC, Rebecca Kozak & Robert Mangin of ME, Angela Kozak of NH and Joshua Guertin of Northbridge.

Her ten great grandchildren are Michael Trottier of SC, Travis-John Trottier of FL, Stephanie Patterson & Eric Hansen of NH, Hannah Patterson of MI, Patrick & Emily  Romar of ME, Timothy & Katie Patterson of NH, Ashley Anderson & Dan Petre of NC, Victoria Romar of ME, Bryanna Paulhus of SC and Jeremy Lincoln of NH.  Her eight great-great grandchildren are Kaden, Jack, Madeline, Liam, Melody, Henry, Miles, and Harper.

She also leaves a sister-in-law, Sophie Bombara (widow of brother Andrew) of East Douglas, MA.

She was pre-deceased by her husband and sisters Mary Bousquet, Sophie Szocik, Catherine Bedard and Martha Roy, and brothers Lawrence, Joseph, Andrew and John Bombara, and son-in-law Mark Kozak.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Lydia Taft Home in Uxbridge for the wonderful TLC they provided Annie; she always had a smile for them and they for her.

Calling Hours are Friday, January 31, 9:30-10:30AM.  Mrs. Guertin's Funeral Mass will be at 11:00AM, Friday, January 31, at Good Shepherd Church, Linwood.  Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery.
