Born April 17, 1950, in Buffalo, NY, Annmarie was the eldest child of Robert and Rosemary (Hurley) Wagner. Her early years were in Buffalo, until the family moved to LeRoy, New York when she was in the eighth grade. Annmarie graduated from Notre Dame High School in Batavia, NY. After high school, she attended the former Millard Fillmore School of Nursing in Buffalo. While in nursing school, she enlisted in the United States Navy. Upon graduation, Annmarie was transferred to the Chelsea Naval Hospital in Massachusetts, where she cared for Navy and Marine personnel returning from Vietnam, and their dependents.
Annmarie and Bill moved to Whitinsville at the end of 1974. She worked several years at St. Camillus and Whitinsville Hospital before working 32 years at Milford Regional Medical Center. After retiring in 2015, she and Bill enjoyed traveling to California, Alaska, and Charleston, and enjoyed annual trips to the races at Saratoga for almost 30 years. Annmarie was a huge sports fan; her first date with Bill was a Buffalo Bills game, and for many years they attended the Red Sox opening day game. Annmarie loved attending her children and grandchildren's athletic events, plays, concerts, and school functions. She was an amazing cook; family and friends each have a favorite recipe they enjoyed.
The family would like to thank the Surgical ICU Team at UMASS Memorial Medical Center for their incredible care and compassion.
