Mrs. Baghdasarian was born January 18, 1926, in Thessaloniki, Greece, a daughter of Hagop and Manouchak (Nigogossian) Dertlian. She lived most of her young life in France. While she was working as a secretary in Paris during World War II, she met and married Jerry. They settled in Whitinsville, where she remained until moving with her daughter to Princeton, in 2015, then Sutton in 2018.
She worked at the former Kartiganer Hat Shop, in Upton, Skone Knitting in Uxbridge, and later Data General, in Southborough as an assembler until she retired. Armen was dedicated to her family and church. She was a very active and longtime member of the Soorp Asdvadzadzin Armenian Apostolic Church in Whitinsville. She loved traveling, especially to France to visit her sisters, and enjoyed writing letters, cards and thank you notes to family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and baking Armenian food, especially pilaf, kheyma and khurabia. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who fondly called her Gagan.
The family would like to thank all those who helped Armen when her cognition began to decline, especially Summit Elder Care, Safeway Transportation, Deb Fins of Lifecare Management, and her wonderfully loving and caring aides – Doris, Tee, Yvonne, Edith, Kate, Rebecca, Tina, and Darlene.
