UXBRIDGE — Barbara LeClaire, 92, of Uxbridge, Massachusetts, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Lydia Taft, Uxbridge. She was the beloved wife of the late Leo LeClaire, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in Milford, Massachusetts, Barbara was the daughter of William and Marion (Messier) Hayes. She was the eldest of three children and was predeceased by her brother, William Hayes, and her sister, Jo-Anne Carr.
Barbara earned her nursing diploma from Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts, and devoted her professional life to caring for others as a registered nurse. She worked in healthcare for many years, including at Leonard Morse Hospital, and remained in the profession until retiring at age 79.
Barbara and Leo’s love story began at an Uxbridge high school football game in 1947. They began dating in 1954 and were married in 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Uxbridge. Together they built a loving family and shared a life centered on one another and those they loved.
Barbara enjoyed playing bridge, dancing, and gambling. Above all, she cherished time with her family.
She is survived by her three sons, Bruce LeClaire, Brian LeClaire and his wife Beth, and Brent LeClaire and his wife Dorothy; her five grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, Naomi, Noah, and Joshua; one grandchild-in-law, Jenna; and one great-grandchild, Brianna, and one great-grandchild in-law, Finn.
Calling Hours from 9:30-11AM, are Thursday, April 30, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 11AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Uxbridge.
