Obituary
Barbara A. Bates Wade, died Wednesday, January 4, at home after a period of declining health. She leaves a son, Michael Albro and his partner Laurie Hally, of Medway; two sisters: Jane Bates Gilmore, of Norway, ME and Carol Bates, of Whitinsville; 2 grandchildren: Amanda Albro and David Albro, and 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Jonathan Wade.
Born August 27, 1952, a daughter of John E. and Pauline (Grenier) Bates, Barbara lived most of her life in Sutton. She was a graduate of Sutton High School and worked as a secretary for many years for various companies in the area. Barbara was a dedicated volunteer with a church based women's support group in Boston. She served as the program director running activities for the program participants and helping them with assistance programs. She was an avid reader of anything related to World War II, and loved her rescue dog "Rusty". Barbara's funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Dog Orphans, Inc. 90 Webster St. Douglas, MA 01516.
