Bernard A. Lapierre Jr., 55, died Monday, July 18, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He is survived by his wife Joan (Hanlon) Lapierre, six children Nicole Lapierre and her partner Nicholas Kirkham, Marc Lapierre, Lauren Lapierre, Zachary McLinden, Julia and her husband Garrett Smith, Luke Kairit, his brother Matthew Lapierre and his wife Melanie of AZ and sister Melissa and her husband Sean Devlin of Ashland, 4 grandchildren Owen, Jackson, Bennett and Julian and several nephews and nieces.
Bernie was born in Worcester, on February 19, 1967, son of the late Earlene M. (Ford) Lapierre and Bernard A. Lapierre Sr. of North Brookfield. He was raised in North Brookfield where he graduated from North Brookfield High School and continued his education at Anna Maria College where he played baseball and soccer. He worked for the past 17 years as a software developer and co-inventor of Enterprise Risk Management software for Logic Manager, Inc in Boston.
He was a drummer for many years with the bands King Moonracer, Wooing Dorothy and most recently for the past several years with Roc-Kin’-On. Other than his passion for music, he played softball in the Grafton Men’s League, enjoyed traveling with his wife Joan and cherished his beloved dogs. Bernie was at heart a true family man his best times were spent with his family playing games, lounging by the pool and being a proud Dad and Pepe. He will be truly missed by everyone he touched in his lifetime.
Calling hours at Carr Funeral Home 24 Hill St. Whitinsville will be held Thursday, July 21, from 4-7 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 22 at 12 p.m. at The Highfields Country Club 42 Magill Dr, Grafton Ma 01519.
