Blanche M. (Boren) Blackburn

Blanche M. (Boren) Blackburn, 96, died Saturday, April 10, at Blackstone Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Whitinsville. She is survived by her son Raymond E. Blackburn, III of Abingdon, MD, her daughter Christine Varteresian of Douglas, 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Blanche is predeceased by her husband of 53 years Raymond E. Blackburn, Jr.  and their daughter Edwina Talbot. 

Mrs. Blackburn was born in Chelsea, MA on June 18, 1924. She was the daughter of Jacob and Rose (Skowronski) Boren. She lived most of her life in Springfield, MA before moving to Pinellas Park, FL for 37 years. Blanche was a member of the Holy Cross Women’s Club in Springfield. She was very religious, faithful to her church and enjoyed spending time at the beach. 

Her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 21, at 11 am in St. Patrick’s Church, 64 Pearl St., Enfield, CT. Burial will follow at Enfield Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Blanche’s memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH, 45250.
