Celia M. (Kosciak) Polucha, age 100, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, surrounded by her family. She leaves her “favorite” son, John Polucha and his wife Julie of Sutton; 2 daughters: Frances Dumas and her husband Michael, and Jane Archibald and her husband Jim, all of Whitinsville; 8 grandchildren: Amy Stacy of Douglas, Kristen Clark of Sturbridge, Jenna Stanley of Whitinsville, James Archibald of Holliston, Zachary Polucha of Northbridge, Anna Grotevant of Northbridge, Neil Polucha of Sutton, and Katy Cyr of Auburn; 15 great grandchildren (plus 1 expected in April 2023), 3 great-great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. Her husband of 67 years, Frank Polucha, predeceased her in 2013. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Louis and Edward Kosciak, two sisters, Wanda Baron and Jennie Kozak; a granddaughter Pamela Morin and a great grandson Sebastian Cyr.
Celia was born and raised in Uxbridge, the daughter of Stanislaw and Anna (Pilch) Kosciak and graduated in 1940 from Uxbridge High School. She had lived in Whitinsville for more than 70 years. She was an accomplished seamstress, cake decorator, and was a long time Girl Scout leader. She was an active member of the Uxbridge Polish American Social and Civic Corp where her father was a founding member. Celia and Frank enjoying traveling together after retirement and for many years ran the Northbridge Senior Travel Club. Celia loved attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities and sporting events. She was their BIGGEST fan.
The family would like to thank the staff at Blackstone Valley Health and Rehabilitation for their care and compassion during this past year.
Calling Hours for family and friends will be from 9-10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Carr Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Patrick’s Church, 7 East Street, Whitinsville at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Whitinsville. The Funeral Mass will be live streamed on the Saint Patrick’s Church website and will also be available Wednesday morning through the link found below.
