So. Grafton---Christopher M. Gear, died Friday, February 5, at home. He leaves his father, Raymond Gear, of Northbridge; two brothers, Matthew Gear and his wife Joy, and Nicholas Svyzek, all of So. Grafton; two sisters, Jerri-Ann Gear and her fiance Derrick Provencher, of Uxbridge and Ferrari Gear, of Northbridge; two nieces, Madilyn and Haley, a nephew Caleb, his uncle Robert Gear, with whom he had a strong relationship, a close friend of the family, Maria Castaldi, and several aunts, uncle and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Ellen (Miles) Gear, in 2017.
Christopher was born in Framingham, March 29, 1981. He grew up in Upton where he attended Nipmuc High School. Prior to living in So. Grafton, he lived many years in Worcester. A hard worker, Chris had worked at UPS for more than twenty years, starting in the warehouse and eventually driving weekly long haul routes to Texas, which he loved. He was an avid Yankees fan, enjoyed Sci-Fi movies, loved music of all kinds and played the electric guitar with a band at one time.
Chris loved his brothers and sisters dearly. He will be remembered for his big heart, giving spirit and always being there when needed. Chris was loved by many friends.
Calling Hours from 2-4PM, will be Sunday, February 21. **Due to current indoor gathering restrictions, funeral home capacity is limited and you may be asked to wait outside. Please plan accordingly.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 22, at 10AM in Saint Patrick's Church, Cross St. Whitinsville. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Grafton, where Chris will be interred with his mother.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
