Clyde E. Whittaker, Jr., died Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in the Milford Regional Medical Center after a period of declining health. His wife of 28 years, Sharon E. (Williams) Whittaker, predeceased him in 2014. Clyde leaves 6 children: Brian Whittaker and his wife Diane, of Douglas; Lori Lange and her husband Michael, of Tulsa, OK; Julie Kuchenbrod, of Milford; Lynn Whittaker and her partner Paul Marks, of Northbridge; Keith Whittaker and his husband Scott Weiser, of Sutton, and Holly Mawn and her husband Sean, of Northbridge; 3 step-children: Cindy Rogers and her partner Ralph Hensley, of CA; Kim Duca and her husband Greg, of Whitinsville; Al Rogers and his wife Fran, of SC; 5 grandchildren: Ryan, Ian, Lauren, Paige and Calvin; 5 step-grandchildren: Vincent, Elizabeth, Casey, Fiona and Siobhan; 3 great grandchildren: Tenlie, Cole and Isabel; and two sisters: Barbara Robinson, of Tuscon, AZ and Claudene Polselli, of Grafton.
Born in Belfast, Maine on March 5, 1939, he was the son of Clyde E. and Alma (Gross) Whittaker, Sr. He lived in Maine until his family moved to Upton when he was 8 years old. After attending the Upton schools, Clyde worked as a Master Certified welder for many years before he began a career as a truck driver. During the late 70's-early 80's he served as an auxiliary police officer for the town of Northbridge. Clyde was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.
