Douglas—David G. Daubney, 83, died Sunday, July 18, 2021 while surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving wife, Nora, "Noreen" (Fleming) Daubney, two sons; Henry J. Daubney and his wife Karla, of Winter Garden, FL and John J. Daubney and his wife Alison, of Douglas; a daughter Susan M. Graceffa and her husband Vincent, of Whitinsville; 7 grandchildren; Derek, Jerica, Katelyn, Brandon, Grace, Cailey, and Samuel, and extended family in Ireland.
The only child of Henry and Mary (Parker) Daubney, he was born in Northbridge February 18, 1938. Mr. Daubney graduated from Northbridge High School in 1955 and Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1959, with a Mechanical Engineering degree.
Upon graduation from WPI, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army. He served active duty until 1966, then joined the Army National Guard, serving as a Communications Officer of the 181 Engineer Battalion, in Whitinsville. He retired from the National Guard as a 1st Lieutenant in 1967. Mr. Daubney worked for Hollingsworth and Vose, in East Walpole, as a project engineer, until retiring in 2001. He was a life long member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Whitinsville.
Mr. Daubney’s Funeral Service will be at 11AM, Friday, July 23, in the Trinity Episcopal Church , Linwood Ave., Whitinsville. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Trinity Church, 33 Linwood Ave, Whitinsville, MA 01588.
