David K. White

David K. White, age 76, died Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at UMASS Medical Center, University Campus after an illness.  He leaves his two children, Corey White and his husband Stuart Hipwell, of Westborough, and Kristen Tankis and her husband Jordan, of Douglas; two brothers, Donald Sementilli, of NY, and James Sementilli, of CT; a sister Cynthia Sementilli, also of CT; two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  

A son of Charlotte (McDade) White, and stepson of Benjamin Sementilli, David was born on May 29, 1947, in West Hartford, CT.  He grew up in Enfield, CT where he graduated from Enfield High School.  After graduation, he relocated to Springfield, MA where he spent most of his life until moving to Millbury in 2019.

For many years David worked at the Hampton Inn in West Springfield, where he was the chief engineer, until he retired in 2014.  He also worked for Angelo's Fruit Market delivering fruit baskets to customers.  His daily routine in Springfield was to stop at Memo's Restaurant for breakfast and coffee with his retired police friends, often bringing his children along when they were young. He was a regular there until he moved to Millbury.  In his free time, he enjoyed listening to his scanner.

Services will be private.  David will be buried in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford, CT with his parents.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart and Stroke Association, PO Box 417005, Boston MA, 02241-7005
