Dawn (Kelliher) Legassey, 73, of Uxbridge died peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 7, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Larry Legassy; her son, Ryan Legassey, and his fiancé, Claire Curtin; her cherished grandson, Devin Legassey; and her brother in law and closest friend, Jim Legassey, whose devoted care stayed with her until her last breath. Dawn is also survived by her siblings David Kelliher and his wife Susan of Uxbridge, Dana Kelliher and his wife Brenda of Sutton, Debra Giorgio of Oakham and Dale Mielnicki and her husband Michael of Douglas.


Born on September 11, 1952, in Northbridge, MA, she was the daughter of the late Alan and Eileen (Andrews) Kelliher. She was a graduate of Northbridge High School Class of 1970. Dawn was a dispatcher for the Town of Uxbridge for many years and received the Jeff Grossman 911 Award in 1996, recognizing her dedicated service to the community. Mrs. Legassey retired as a dispatcher for the Town of Grafton in 2015.


Dawn enjoyed her family vacations to Cape Cod, spending time relaxing on the beach, and shopping but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandson Devin.


A graveside service at Fairview Cemetery 380 Providence Rd, South Grafton, MA 01560, will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 10 AM, followed by a  reception to celebrate Dawn's life, which will be held after the service at the Knights of Columbus Hall 77 Prescott Rd, Whitinsville, MA 01588 at 12 noon.
