Donald F. Blette, 83, died Sunday, November 17, 2024, at home.  He leaves a daughter Theresa-Marie Senecal and her husband Blaine, his caregivers for the last 11 years and with whom he lived; a son, Joseph Blette, of Uxbridge and his partner Jennifer Connor; 4 grandchildren Catelyn Porcaro and her husband Adam; Joseph Senecal and his wife Katie; Jayde and Shyan Blette; and 3 great granddaughters: Ellianna, Sienna, Noah.  In addition, he leaves a brother Richard Blette, of Northborough and two sisters: Pauline LeCour, of Northbridge and Linda Baldwin, of Whitinsville.  He was predeceased by his wife Brenda A. (Scowcroft) Blette in 2013, and son Mark B. Blette in 2014.

Born in Northbridge on September 4, 1941, to the late Francis and Doris (Porter) Blette, Donnie lived most of his life in Northbridge.  He retired in 2001 from the Northbridge School Department where he worked for more than 30 years as a senior custodian.  He also worked at the Gray Barn part-time tending bar for 30 years.  He was an avid fan of the Patriots, Celtics and Red Sox and he enjoyed playing softball in area leagues for many years.  As a young man, Don played the trumpet with the former Rockdale Eagles Drum Corps. At the age of 19, he won the New England Golden Gloves Bantamweight Championship 

Don was a member of Saint Patrick's Church and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #365.  In more recent years he enjoyed daily coffee with friends at McDonalds and participating in the Northbridge Senior Center cribbage league. More than anything else Don loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Don's family would like to thank the Northbridge Senior Center for the support, care and rides they provided to Don and his family over the last few years.  

Calling Hours, from 5-7PM will be Wednesday, November 20, 2024.  Donald's Funeral Mass will be at 11AM on Thursday, November 21, at Saint Patrick's Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of Northbridge Elders, 20 Highland St., Whitinsville, MA 01588, or to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.
