Donald J. "Poncho" Desjardin, 89, died Saturday, October 16, in Milford Hospital.
His wife of 56 years, Arlene A. (Sughrue) Desjardin died in 2012. He is survived by a son, Donald M. Desjardin and his wife Lynn Courville, a daughter, Jaclyn A. Desjardin, a son Todd J. Desjardin and his companion Kathy Kroll, a grand-daughter, Jennifer Parker and her husband Jarrett Parker, a great grandson, Johnny Mac Beasley, a brother Richard and sister Lucille Barber.
He was predeceased by his brother Leo, and sister Eileen Busque.
Mr. Desjardin was born May 15, 1932 in Blackstone, the son of Louis and Aline (Roy) Desjardin. He lived in Northbridge most of his life after serving a tour in the Army in France. He worked running a backhoe for Dean & Brown, then Brown Construction all over New England.
In his prime, he bowled, occasionally golfed, and repurposed things into "lawn ornamentation". Later in life he perfected the art of scratching lottery tickets.
Memorial Calling Hours, from 6-8PM, will be held Thursday, October 21, in the Carr Funeral Home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
