Donald J. "Skip" Herne

Northbridge--Donald J. "Skip" Herne, 71, died Wednesday, June 21, in the Milford Regional Medical Center, after an illness.  He leaves his wife of 44 years, Yvette (LeBlanc) Herne; 2 sons, Thomas Herne and his wife Kerry, of Webster, and  Stephen Herne, of Northbridge, a  daughter Sherry Ann Castonguay and her husband John, of Northbridge; 2 brothers, 3 sisters and 5 grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a brother.

Skip was born May 19, 1946 in Roxbury, a son of Maurice and Theresa (Gallagher)  Herne.  He attended the Roxbury and Wellesly schools.  He worked in the medical field most of his life.  Before moving to Northbridge in 1986, he lived in Waltham and Canada.

Memorial calling hours are Thursday, June 29, 6-8PM, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St., Whitinsville.  Burial will be held at the family's convenience.  Please omit flowers and instead consider a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
