“The Ice Cream Lady”

Donna lost her 9 year battle with cancer peacefully at home on Sunday September 18.  She is survived by her husband Ray Whitehead of Webster, her daughter Linsay Geer and granddaughter Kallie Cote of Thompson, CT, her mother Edna Lariviere of Upton, her father Marcel Legere of Sutton, her sister Ann Dakin of Sutton, her brothers Ronald Legere of Southbridge, Brian Legere of Whitinsville, Richard Legere of Jacksonville, NC, Marc Legere of New Bern, NC as well as their spouses and many nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by another daughter and two wonderful granddaughters.

  She was born in Whitinsville MA to Edna Lariviere and Marcel Legere on September 28, 1962 and attended Whitinsville public schools.  She had many jobs in different industries but is best remembered for managing as well as being known as “The Ice Cream Lady” in Douglas where she had an amazing impact on customers and employees alike.  She was a fixture at its annual Free Ice Cream Day which was held this year on Sunday September 18. 

    Donna loved living on Webster Lake with great neighbors.  She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and always looked forward to the fireworks on the lake every year.

   Visiting hours in Carr Funeral Home 24 Hill St, Whitinsville will be held Saturday, September 24 from 12-2 p.m.
