Dorothy A. (Philbrook) Plante

Northbridge--Dorothy A. (Philbrook) Plante, died Thursday, January 14, 2021, in Beaumont Northbridge.  She was 96.  Dot is survived by her two sons, Eugene Plante, Jr. and his wife Denise, of Whitinsville and Norman Plante and his wife, Frances, of Lecanto, FL, a sister, Carolyn Dugan, of Northbridge, 7 grand children, Eugene III, Heather, Ashley, Laura-Lynn, Melissa, Courtney and Brittany; and 6 great grand children: John, Kayla, Rylee, Eugene IV (Geno), Briella, and Aliyah.  She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Plante, Sr., in 2012 , her sister Alice Haynes, and her great grandson, NIck, in 2014.

Dot was born in Rockport, ME, May 13, 1924, a daughter of Walter H. and Madeline (Small) Philbrook.  She moved to Whitinsville when she was 2 years old.  She graduated from Northbridge High School in 1941.  Dot worked at the Whitin Machine Works, at General Electric, in Ashland and at Reed-Prince, in Worcester.

Dot loved to play "pennies", UNO, Parcheesi for nickels, and trips to BINGO.  Most of all she loved her family, gatherings for birthdays and cookouts and her extended Beaumont family.  Dot loved roaming the hallways and waving to all the residents saying "Dee, if I can just make one person smile.", and that she did.

As Dorothy reunites with Gene (Diz) in Heaven, she will surely be loved and missed by family and friends here on Earth.  

A Calling Hour from 10-11AM, will be held Wednesday, January 20.  Funeral Services and burial in the Rhode Island Memorial  Veterans'  Cemetery will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beaumont Northbridge, 85 Beaumont Dr., Northbridge, MA 01534
