Edward J Garabedian Jr. 51 of Portsmouth, Virginia passed away unexpectedly at home July 1, 2021. Born in Bethesda, MD January 30,1970 to the late CMD Edward J. Garabedian Sr. and the late Jean (Harkin) Garabedian.
Edward was educated and grew up in Virginia Beach, VA where he excelled in sports. He had a great love music and adventure whether it be camping, fishing or just general shenanigans. His true love was cooking. He was educated at Johnson and Whales University. Cooking for his friends and family brought him pure joy. For many years he worked in the restaurant industry in Newport, RI and the Tidewater area of Virginia. In Newport he was also a private chief for some of Newport’s elite.
In his spare time, he was also very creative. This was evidenced every Halloween when he would carve an elaborate pumpkin display for the neighbors or in his many soap carvings he would gift to his family and friends.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his son, Skyler Garabedian of Virginia Beach, sisters Dawn LaComb (Daniel) of North Providence, RI and Debra Ward of Newport, RI, Uncle Richard Garabedian (Marilyn) of Hillsboro, CA, nephews and a niece as well as his many cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers William and Edward Bloom.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, July 15 at 11AM in Pine Grove Cemetery 241 Linwood Ave, Whitinsville, MA. In lieu of flowers, please take a moment and consider preforming a random act of kindness for a stranger or someone in need.
