Elizabeth Ann (Morcone) de Souza

NANTUCKET ... Elizabeth Ann Morcone de Souza, 40, formerly of Whitinsville, died suddenly on August 5. She is survived by her husband, Adelmo deSouza, their daughter, Angelina; her parents, Paul and Suzanne (Choquette) Morcone, of Whitinsville; a sister, Jennifer Morcone Stanfield, and her husband, Aaron, of Huntsville, AL; a niece, Charlotte Stanfield; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and numerous friends.

Liz was born in Milford, March 18, 1977. She grew up in Whitinsville and graduated from Northbridge High School in 1995, and the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts in 1997.

While still a student, she began a horticulture internship at Bartlett's Farm on Nantucket, where, for more than a decade, she served as the garden center manager. Liz had a tremendous talent for gardening, and especially loved sunflowers.

Liz's cheerful nature, welcoming and warm spirit, kindness and generosity will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Calling Hours will be 5-7 pm, Thursday, August 17, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville. Interment, at Glastonbury Abbey, will be private.
