Eunice A. (Arakelian) Malkasian, 73, died Wednesday, March 3. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Malkasian; two brothers, Arthur Arakelian, of Worcester, and David Arakelian, and wife Barbara, of Arizona; a sister, Karen Weldon, and husband, Paul, of Sutton; and five nieces.
Eunice was born in Worcester, December 10, 1947, a daughter of Hampton and Margaret (Asdikian) Arakelian. She grew up in Sutton, and lived in California for many years, and returned to her roots to retire. She was a graduate of Sutton High School, Bridgewater State College, Sacramento State University, and Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
An enrolled agent, Eunice operated her own tax accounting firm in California.
She was an avid reader, spending many hours at the Sutton Library. She was a former Worcester County Deputy Sheriff, was active in the Eastern Star, and belonged to the Armenian Church of Our Savior, in Worcester, and Saint James Armenian Church, in Sacramento, California.
Memorial Calling Hours will be from 9-10:30am, Tuesday, March 16, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville, followed by a graveside committal service in Pine Grove Cemetery, Linwood Avenue, Whitinsville, at 11am.
