Francis J Kinnecome Obituary

Francis J. Kinnecome, 80, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, at his home with his loving children by his side. Born on January 4, 1945, in Whitinsville, he was the son of the late Walter and Anne (Kolonas) Kinnecome.

Franny was a graduate of Uxbridge High School, Class of 1962. He continued his education at Worcester Junior College and served his country in the Army National Guard before embarking on a long and dedicated career in telecommunications. Over the decades, he worked for several phone companies as they evolved—from New England Telephone to AT&T to NYNEX and eventually finishing his long career at Verizon, serving as both a lineman and an adaptive service representative. In recent years, he found joy working as a cart attendant at Crystal Lake Golf Club in Mapleville, R.I.

Mr. Kinnecome lived in various places over the years. He was raised in Uxbridge, MA and continued to reside there for many years after graduating from high school. After spending some time in Framingham, MA, he moved to York, ME, where he resided for 20 years. He also wintered for some years in Fort Myers, FL. A man of many interests, Fran was an avid runner who found peace and purpose on the open road. He loved golfing, took pleasure in gardening and watching birds, simple joys that reflected his appreciation for nature’s quiet beauty. He also loved spending time with family, never missing an opportunity to lovingly tease his grandkids.

Francis is survived by his son David Kinnecome and wife Katarina of France; daughter Kara Bandstra and husband Nate of Upton, MA; sister Joy Newell of John's Island, SC; four cherished grandchildren Aidan, Alex, and Ella Bandstra and Izabela Kinnecome; stepson John Peterson of MA; former wife Judith (Sweeney) Lynch; as well as many sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife Estelle (Shea) Kinnecome in 2010 and three brothers Barry, Robert (Pete), and Bruce Kinnecome.
