Gloria F. (Demers) Lavallee, 66, died peacefully, at home, November 16, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Tanona, her daughter, Shannon Reynolds, and her husband, Daniel, and her grandchildren, Rhiannon and Reece Reynolds, of Oswego, IL; three sisters, Betty Morvan, and her husband, Bill, of Northbridge, Rosemary Papazian, of Douglas, and Mary Morton, and her husband, Ken, of Uxbridge; two brothers, Robert and John Demers, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles, Donald, Ernest and Francis Demers.
Gloria was born in Milford, July 21, 1953, a daughter of the late Francis and Gloria (Bergeron) Demers. She grew up in Uxbridge and graduated from Uxbridge High School in 1971. She worked at the State Mutual Insurance Company for ten years before choosing to stay at home to raise her daughter. For 25 years, she was a licensed daycare provider, having helped care for 86 children during that time.
Gloria loved animals and had a fondness for cats. She enjoyed taking walks at West Hill, loved to cook, and enjoyed travelling with her husband. She was especially blessed to have two grandchildren whom she loved and visited often.
Family and friends are invited to gather for Calling Hours from 4-7pm, Tuesday, November 19, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville. Additional services will be private.
