Janice L. Hammond, 86, died Friday, October 8, 2021, in Blair House of Milford Assisted Living.  She is survived by  a son, Kenneth Hammond, and a daughter, Dorcas Carlson and her husband David, of Northbridge, and a grandson, Dave W. Carlson III.  She was predeceased by her husband Herbert Hammond, in 2010.

Janice was born in Northbridge on December 20, 1934, the only child of Hadda "Henry"  and Frances (Barnett) Nydam.  After graduating from Northbridge High School, she attended Clark University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Business degree.  She taught Business classes for  many years at Northbridge High School prior to working as the vice-dean at the Dudley Hall Career Institute, in Worcester.

In addition to living in Milford and Northbridge, Janice lived in York Beach, ME, Vermont, Hopkinton, NH and Deland, FL.  She was a member of the Village Congregational Church, in Whitinsville.  She enjoyed puzzles and reading books about the Amish.

In keeping with Janice's wishes, there are no services.  Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private.
