Janine A (Bevan) Massicotte, age 54, passed peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2024, while surrounded by her loving family at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She leaves her loving husband of 13 years, Derek Massicotte; her mother, Judith Bevan, of Medford, MA, her 2 brothers: Joseph Bevan, of Dallas, Texas, and James Bevan and his wife of Keene, NH; 2 sisters: Jacqueline Perry and her husband Ed, of New York, and Joy Bevan, of Medford, MA. In addition, Janine leaves her father and mother-in-law, Pete and Sandy Massicotte, whom she had a special bond with. She also leaves two lifelong best friends, Noreen Alves of Princeton, MA and Julie Edwards of San Diego, CA.

She was predeceased by her loving father, the late James W. Bevan, and her fur baby Beetlejuice whom she loved like the real thing, always. Janine was born in Fitchburg, MA on June 11,1970.  She was a graduate of Fitchburg High School and UMASS Boston, with a degree in Psychology.  Her love was working with her “littles” as an early childhood behavioral specialist, most recently at Beacon ABA. Janine’s life was her husband, music, her close friends and her cats, Panther & Maya Moo. She loved gardening and wished she could have spent more time doing it. Janine had a kindness for others and “reverence” for life that never was taught to her. It naturally flowed from her heart and her incredible love for people, nature and animals. Janine was an amazing counselor who could help you straighten yourself out. Truely, Janine was a selfless person whom you were better off for having known and will forever be sorely missed by those who were lucky enough to be in her orbit.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life from 2-5pm on Sunday, October 13th in the downstairs parish hall at St. Patrick’s Parish in Whitinsville, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the GoFund me page created by her family in response to her sudden passing.
