Jean M. Poole (Peterson) of Upton, MA went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2021, at the age of 68. She leaves her husband of 47 years, Stephen Poole. In addition, she leaves three sons; Christopher and his wife Chrissy, Jason and his wife Joy, Jonathan and his wife Becca, and a daughter, Stephenie Gosselin and her husband Chad. Jean also leaves ten grandchildren: Olivia, Zoe, Harmony, Jacob, Eli, Titus, Taylor, Judah, Isaac and Paige. Jean leaves her siblings Fred Peterson and his wife Sheila, Donna Magowan, Wayne Peterson and his wife Carol, June Peterson, Brenda Wise and her husband Steve, Nathan Peterson, Eric Peterson and his wife Muriel, and Karen Beaupre, 17 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and nephews.
Jean was predeceased by her parents Marlow and Mary (Kangas) Peterson, and her two brothers Roy and Joel.
Jean was born in Worcester on August 31, 1953, the oldest of eleven children and grew up in Sutton and graduated from Sutton High School.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and enjoyed seeing them all together in one place. For many years she organized family and friends reunions. She loved watching her grandchildren learn and grow with Christ as their Savior. She was very proud of all her children and grandchildren.
As many of you know Jean had a passion for helping others and for many years she was the head cook at Douglas and Portsmouth Camp Meeting. Her life-long dedication to the camp associations is greatly appreciated and she will be missed by many. She was currently a board member of the Douglas Camp Meeting Association in Douglas, MA, where she was working on getting a new stove for the kitchen. We ask that in lieu of flowers a donation in her name be made to the Douglas Camp Meeting Association for a new stove. We also know that there are other charitable causes that are in need so we ask that you follow your heart and make a donation in Jean’s memory to any cause.
