WHITINSVILLE ... John D. Banks, 74, formerly of Worcester and Sutton, died Sunday, June 5, in the Milford Regional Medical Center. His wife, Pamela J. (Regis) Banks, died in 2014. He is survived by two daughters, Katrina Banks-Binici, and her husband, John, of Westborough, and Stephanie Robertson, and her husband, Scott, of Sutton; two brothers, William F. Banks, Jr., of Holden, and Stephen Banks, and his wife, Martha, of Worcester; a sister, Penny McGonagle, and her husband, John, of Saco, ME; and five grandchildren, Sophia, Julian, Olivia, Mitchell, and Isabella.
Mr. Banks was born in Worcester, October 26, 1941, a son of William F. and Louise (Ring) Banks. He grew up in the Columbus Park neighborhood of Worcester, and lived in Sutton for many years before moving to Whitinsville in 2007. He was a graduate of Worcester South High School and the Wentworth Institute.
Mr. Banks was the owner of the GFI Metal Fabricating Company in Hudson, and previously worked at Raytheon, as an electrical engineer. Following his retirement, he was a courier for the Central One Credit Union in Shrewsbury.
He was the founder and President-for-Life of the Pate` Club, and he collected clocks and antiques.
Mr. Banks' Funeral Service will be private. Calling Hours will be 6-8 PM, Friday, June 10, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville.
