John G. Crowley, 80, died Thursday, November 5, in the Lydia Taft House, Uxbridge. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Mayforth) Crowley; four daughters, Jeanne Bigelow, and her husband, David, of Charlton, Sue and Steve Doherty, of Northbridge, Alison and Jeff Deane, of Whitinsville, and Jennifer Masoud, of Douglas; nine grandchildren; a brother, William Crowley, and his wife, Maureen, of Attleboro; and a sister, Mary O'Keefe, of Warwick, RI. He was predeceased by his sister, Hope Upham and her husband, Donald.
Mr. Crowley was born in Providence, Rhode Island, March 8, 1940, a son of William and Sara Crowley. He grew up in Providence and graduated from LaSalle Academy and Bryant College. Prior to retiring, he was a dispatcher for the Branch Motor Company and Red Star Express.
He was an avid birdwatcher and fisherman, and he enjoyed swimming at the Whitin Community Center and following the stock market.
