John F. Milan Jr., 68, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Umass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA after a courageous battle with cancer.

John is survived by his loving wife, Sarah (Higgins) Milan; his sons Michael Milan and his girlfriend Lauren Cherry of West Roxbury and Matthew Milan and his wife Eve of Roseville, CA; stepchildren Jack Bradley of Brooklyn, New York; Ryan Bradley of Whitinsville; and Kingsley Bradley and her fiancé Asante Cleveland of Sacramento, CA.; grandfather to Connor and Penelope Milan. John also leaves behind his siblings Margaret Halacy of Woonsocket, Rhode Island; Marjorie Kidd and her husband Steven of Pepperell and Michael Milan and his wife Linda of Uxbridge; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Maryellen Connors.

Born on May 20, 1956, son of the late John F. Sr. and Esther (Foley) Milan in Milford, MA, John was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Milford, Class of 1974. He went on to attend Rhode Island Community College before embarking on a successful career in network engineering. His work took him across the globe, including a few years spent living and working in Denmark as a Network Engineer for BioGen. Most recently, he was employed as a Network Engineer at Dell EMC in Hopkinton, MA.  Many of John’s coworkers became lifelong friends.

John proudly served in the Air Force Reserves, stationed at the Burrillville, Rhode Island base. He was also deeply proud of obtaining dual citizenship with Ireland, a reflection of his strong connection to his heritage.

A man of many passions, John was an avid traveler who cherished exploring Ireland, Italy, Denmark, Scotland, and England with his wife, Sarah. He found great joy and peace at their home along the coast of Maine, where they built lasting friendships and spent countless hours hiking and seeking new adventures. An active individual throughout his life, he enjoyed exercising, running, biking and walking. He maintained a large network of friends and was a dedicated Friend of Bill for over 30 years. John will be remembered fondly for his generosity, kindness and dry sense of humor.
