Judith A. Tessier, age 66, died Wednesday, May 12, 2021, in the Milford Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 18, 1954, in Northbridge, the only child of Laurent and Muriel (Sampson) Tessier. Judy attended St. Peter’s Catholic School and graduated from Northbridge High School in 1972. She graduated with honors from Boston University with Bachelor’s in Nursing Science and received her Master of Science in Nursing degree, Magna cum Laude, from the University of Georgia, where she was inducted into Sigma Theta Mu, the National Honor Society of Nursing in 1980. She became a Certified Oncology Nurse and became the Director of Nursing in Long Term Care in Augusta, GA. Returning to MA, she worked in Oncology nursing at UMass Memorial, New England Baptist, Beth Israel, and Brigham and Women’s Hospitals until she retired.
Judy loved music and the theater, attending many concerts and Broadway show productions and was members of Boston on Broadway and the Hanover Theater. She was an active member of the Moody Blues Fan Club and traveled near and far to see them perform.
Judy was a loving and caring person, missed but forever in the hearts of her longtime friends: Pauline McKinney and her husband, Alan; Denise Lacour and her husband Roger; and their children and grandchildren, who loved their “Auntie Judy.” Judy was predeceased by her parents. She leaves behind a Godson she adored, Thomas Heney and his wife, Marie, of Douglas, and many cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 19, at 11AM in Saint Peter's Church, Northbridge. A Calling Hour at the church will precede the Mass from 10-11AM. Burial will be in Saint Patrick's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy's memory may be made to either the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241, or to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123.
